As BMS continues to grow and flourish, and indeed expand its international presence, we are recruiting for a well-rounded and dedicated individual within the in-house tax team to look after the UK and International entities. This role will be suitable for a part-qualified or recently qualified rounded accountant looking to move into a more tax specific role. Experience is not required on all elements of the job specification. This exciting role within the existing in-house tax team will be to support the Head of tax with the areas indicated below.
Key Responsibilities- Assistance in preparation of corporation tax computations and corporate tax provisioning for the annual financial statements.
- Assistance in calculation of corporation tax payments on account.
- Assistance with preparation of quarterly VAT returns using the Partial exemption special method.
- Preparation of monthly VAT accruals.
- Posting tax journals into SUN ledger and regular reconciliation of all tax accounts.
- Assistance with preparation of PSA calculation and return.
- Liaison with broking teams to provide all necessary tax documentation required for income remittance to UK.
- Assistance with ad-hoc tax projects as required, which could include:
- Helping gather documentation for group transfer pricing policy.
- Documentation of group tax processes, policies and strategy.
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and changes which may affect BMS Group.
- Assistance with researching wider tax issues and providing advice and support to internal stakeholders on any tax issues arising.
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and desire to learn specifics of tax compliance and reporting across all business taxes.
- Strong practical application of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically with proficient level excel skills (vlookups, pivots etc).
- SUN, Q&A, AlphaVAT, Proactis – desirable but not essential.
- Produce high quality work with excellent attention to detail.
- Plan and manage a wide range of tasks effectively, with a focus on deadlines and priorities.
