Position Overview

In this role you will function as an integral member of the actuarial and broking team, providing analytical and actuarial support to brokers, clients and prospects. You will work across a wide range of insurance and reinsurance lines of business, supporting portfolio analysis, reinsurance structuring, profitability assessments, and strategic projects. You will be part of a growing and dynamic team with the opportunity to gain extensive experience in actuarial analysis, data analytics, portfolio management, and alternative capital solutions. The role will provide exposure to both technical and client-facing activities and offers an excellent opportunity to develop actuarial, analytical, and commercial expertise while progressing through the actuarial qualification process.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Extract, cleanse, validate, and transform client datasets to be used in actuarial analysis.
  • Utilise Python and other analytical tools to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in analysis of insurance and reinsurance structures, evaluating performance of portfolios, identifying loss trends, and calculation of portfolio profitability.
  • Assist in interpreting the results of actuarial analysis and produce clear and insightful reports through visualisations, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support continuous improvements in processes and models.
  • Work collaboratively with brokers, actuaries, and catastrophe analysts across the business.
  • Support strategic projects and contribute to the continued growth of the analytics function.
  • Perform required actuarial work in a highly professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain the continuing education requirements as required by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
