The Role

This is a field‑based Business Development role focused on managing and growing key accounts across the North of England. You’ll drive revenue by developing existing relationships, identifying new opportunities within major multi‑site customers, and delivering tailored, solution‑led propositions.

  • 4 days per week client‑facing in the field
  • 1 day per week home‑based for planning and administration

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and develop key accounts across mainly public sector clients
  • Identify and convert new revenue opportunities within existing customer bases
  • Build strong, long‑term relationships with key stakeholders
  • Deliver consultative, solution‑led sales approaches
  • Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and account strategy
  • Maintain a consistent presence with clients through regular site visits

About You

  • Proven track record as a Business Development Manager or similar role
  • Experience managing and growing public sector accounts
  • Background selling into NHS, local authorities, or universities
  • Understanding of working with Frameworks + buying groups e.g. NHS + TUCO
  • Open to candidates from both food and non-food sectors
  • Strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills
  • Highly motivated, customer‑facing, and comfortable in a field‑based role
