About the Company: We’re partnered with a global market-leading client, specialising in the creation of surface technologies for numerous sectors, primarily within aviation and defence.
Role Overview: Joining their dynamic team based in Berkshire, my client is looking for an experienced Product Development Controls Engineer to manage the product development lifecycle of surface technologies from a controls perspective. This includes concept, design, testing, and installation into our client’s other business units across the globe. The ideal candidate will be a good team player, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive product development lifecycle of surface technologies from a controls perspective: from conception to installation.
- Travel across the globe to our client’s other business units to install robotic machinery.
- Responsible for the testing of robotic machinery, commissioning machines, and supporting electrical engineering teams on-site for our clients’ business units across the UK and overseas.
- Provide designs related to electrical hardware and machine automation.
- Manage the business unit’s small electrical department, including reporting on project work and assessing spend against quotas.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years’ experience with design and product development within controls.
- Experience using industrial automation software: Beckhoff (necessary) or LabVIEW (desirable) or C++ (desirable).
- Solid understanding of robotics is necessary for the installation and maintenance of robotic equipment.
- Experience with building electrical wiring layouts, schematics, and diagrams using CAD tools: SOLIDWORKS Electrical is ideal.
- Willing to work 5 days on-site and travel globally when necessary.
Package:
- £50,000-£60,000 p/a
