Manufacturer of lighting products and lighting controls BDM – Defence and Security UK role – Home & field based.

Package: £55K-£70k basic + Annual bonus + Car Allowance.

Fantastic opportunity for a hunter, sales person to drive the Defence and Security sector for this lighting brand. Opportunity to work closely with MOD, Military, Naval and Security End Users as well as M&E Consultants and Contractors on large scale projects and frameworks. THE ROLE

Working across the UK and N.I., you will spend your time identifying and winning tenders, contracts and projects with Defence and Security End Users including MOD, Naval, RAF and Military bases and barracks. As part of the sales process, you will build key relationships with M&E Consultants and M&E Contractors to manage the design, delivery and installation of those lighting projects within your end user customers. You will be selling a range of lighting products and lighting controls which can be standalone or part of an integrated BMS system. The company has a wide array of products that will suit both commercial and residential environments but also critical and high-risk environments making their offering very attractive to this sector.

Candidates who have a track record of winning frameworks, contracts and long-term agreements within defence or security end users will be in a strong position to lead and shape this new position and develop the sector for the team. The position will require you to demonstrate your understanding of end user stakeholders in these government and private bodies as well as a mix of technical specification experience and commercial pitching, tendering and project management. Key to success in this role is a proven track record of consultative selling within electrical, lighting or mechanical solutions with a network of contacts in the sector. This is a brand new role so patience and resilience will be needed to build a base of sales from scratch.

Established in Europe, with global presence and strong UK turnover, this is a growing manufacturer of lighting solutions. They are well known within lighting controls and wireless solutions so this will be a large part of their offering. Great focus on sustainability and future thinking innovations. Good support from technical, design and back office teams to ensure success. An exciting time to join as they are expanding their team and sector specialists.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • 2 years or more working in technical field sales selling to End Users in: MOD, Naval, Army, RAF, Military or Security Sector.
  • Understanding of M&E Contractors and specification selling.
  • Ability to win and manage a pipeline of long-term projects.
  • A consultative, driven and professional salesperson with a hunter mentality and resilience to build a base of sales.
  • Security checked or has “DV” or “SC” approvals and proof of this – Desirable but not essential.

Salary: up to £70,000 basic salary, plus OTE, £6K car allowance, mobile, laptop, 25 days holiday, pension scheme.
