A full-time, permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Director to take ownership of an event focused on optics, selling exhibitions to frame designers and capital equipment providers within a globally recognised events business. This is a market leading event, which brings some of the largest designers to the UK. Although your territory is global!

This position carries full responsibility for event performance, spanning strategic planning, operational delivery, commercial success and audience growth. Working cross-functionally with sales, marketing and operations, the Event Director will shape and execute initiatives that ensure each event delivers strong financial results alongside an exceptional experience for exhibitors and attendees.

This is an individual contributor role focused on exhibitor retention and growth, management of complex multi-stakeholder agreements with senior decision-makers, and development of long-term partnerships with commercial stakeholders such as CEOs, Finance Directors and Managing Directors. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining market-leading positioning within a specialist optics-focused exhibition portfolio.

Location: Hybrid role based in West London, with three days per week in the office. Quarterly travel across the US and Europe!

Requirements:

  • 3 years experience in B2B event sales
  • Strong track record of managing revenue streams, including sponsorship or exhibitor sales and “running the show”
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders (e.g. CEO, Finance Director, Managing Director level)
  • Commercially astute with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution
  • Skilled in managing multi-stakeholder agreements and long-term client relationships
  • Collaborative approach with experience working across marketing and operations functions
