A market leading supplier to the UK orthodontic laboratory industry is looking to appoint a Head of Procurement at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. The business has ambitious plans to double in size over the next 2 to 5 years, and this appointment is central to making that happen.

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the UK Leadership Team, you will develop and implement a procurement strategy across both the High Wycombe headquarters and the Huddersfield site. The business operates a catalogue of over 155,000 SKUs spanning retail product supply and manufacturing for orthodontic laboratories, and manages relationships with approximately 120 supplier partners globally.

You will oversee a team of three direct reports – two based at High Wycombe and one in Huddersfield – with the logistics function also within your remit and potential scope to grow the team further. This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role, balancing strategic planning over a 3‑to‑5 year horizon with the day-to-day commercial discipline needed to deliver in year one.

Location

Based primarily at the High Wycombe site, with travel to Huddersfield approximately twice per month. Candidates should ideally be located within 45 minutes to an hour of High Wycombe. This is a full-time, office-based position.

Candidate Requirements

  • Senior procurement or supply chain experience, ideally with management responsibility
  • Background in any industry – purchasing, senior procurement management, or sourcing experience is what matters
  • Degree qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; CIPS or equivalent preferred
  • Proven track record of contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and inventory control
  • Comfortable managing at different levels – from strategic planning to direct supplier conversations
  • Strong communicator with a practical, commercially minded approach
  • ERP and data analysis proficiency; advanced Excel skills

The Package

  • £50,000 to £70,000 base salary depending on experience
  • 5% annual bonus
  • Laptop and mobile provided
  • Healthcare
  • Non contributory pension (3% employer contribution, rising to 5% after qualification)
  • 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure

The Company

Operating under a well-known global parent, this business is the number one supplier into the UK orthodontic laboratory market. With a combined heritage spanning over 140 years across its two established brands, it holds a dominant position against competitors including Henry Schein, Wrights, and WHW. The culture is genuinely people first – the business promotes from within, values honesty and teamwork, and is entering one of its most exciting periods of growth.
