BMR Solutions are hiring an Operational Buyer for a leading engineering business in Clevedon. This is a great opportunity to step into a fast-paced, high-tech environment on an ongoing contract with hybrid flexibility.
The role involves taking ownership of a supplier portfolio, driving on-time delivery, cost control, and quality performance while supporting production and supply chain continuity.
Key responsibilities:
- Raise and manage purchase orders across multiple systems
- Act on MRP signals to expedite, defer, or cancel orders
- Issue RFQs, analyse quotes, and support new part set-up
- Resolve supplier issues including delays, quality, and invoice queries
- Prevent shortages and keep production running smoothly
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement
- Work with Engineering on obsolescence, concessions, and change control
- Support NPI, sourcing, and outsourcing activity
About you:
- 2-3 years experience in procurement or buying
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
- Confident using MRP systems
- CIPS Level 4 (or working towards) desirable
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
