Role Overview:

We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering bespoke control and automation solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors. This is not a copy-and-paste engineering environment. You will be designing electrical systems from scratch, working on varied and technically interesting projects across industries including defence, nuclear, FMCG, special purpose machinery, packaging, IIoT and R&D. Projects range from standalone hardware design through to full turnkey solutions from concept to commissioning.

You will be part of a close-knit, friendly engineering team that values collaboration, technical excellence and continuous development. The Role:

  • Design electrical control systems for bespoke industrial automation projects
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics and drawings using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
  • Design systems in accordance with relevant standards including BS EN 60204
  • Work on projects from initial concept through to commissioning
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and engage with customers when required
  • Support hardware design, system integration and documentation
  • Attend customer sites occasionally to support project delivery
  • Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards

The Person:

  • Experience in electrical design or control systems engineering
  • Competent using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
  • Good understanding of safety in systems engineering and relevant standards
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

The Benefits:

  • Salary up to GBP45,000 per annum
  • GBP50 bonus for each day working on customer sites
  • GBP10 bonus per overnight stay (where required)
  • Guaranteed salary review within 12 months
