Role Overview:
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering bespoke control and automation solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors. This is not a copy-and-paste engineering environment. You will be designing electrical systems from scratch, working on varied and technically interesting projects across industries including defence, nuclear, FMCG, special purpose machinery, packaging, IIoT and R&D. Projects range from standalone hardware design through to full turnkey solutions from concept to commissioning.
You will be part of a close-knit, friendly engineering team that values collaboration, technical excellence and continuous development. The Role:
- Design electrical control systems for bespoke industrial automation projects
- Produce detailed electrical schematics and drawings using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
- Design systems in accordance with relevant standards including BS EN 60204
- Work on projects from initial concept through to commissioning
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and engage with customers when required
- Support hardware design, system integration and documentation
- Attend customer sites occasionally to support project delivery
- Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards
The Person:
- Experience in electrical design or control systems engineering
- Competent using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
- Good understanding of safety in systems engineering and relevant standards
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
The Benefits:
- Salary up to GBP45,000 per annum
- GBP50 bonus for each day working on customer sites
- GBP10 bonus per overnight stay (where required)
- Guaranteed salary review within 12 months
- Paid overtime
- Flexible working hours (Monday to Friday)
