An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader to join a leading manufacturing organisation in Clevedon. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about driving team performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
The Role
As Team Leader, you will take ownership of a defined production cell, ensuring operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled team, ensuring targets are met while fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring output meets agreed schedules and quality standards
- Promote a strong health, safety, and well-being culture across the team
- Drive efficiency through effective use of people, time, and resources
- Manage team performance, behaviour, attendance, and development
- Deliver daily team briefings and ensure clear communication across departments
- Identify process improvements and support implementation of operational changes
- Resolve production issues quickly and effectively
- Maintain workplace organisation standards (e.g., 6S)
- Support training, coaching, and development to build a capable, flexible workforce
- Act as a key point of contact for technical and quality-related matters
About You
- Proven experience leading and motivating teams within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Competent in IT systems, including Microsoft Office
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
- HNC (or equivalent) in a manufacturing or engineering discipline
