The Role
We are recruiting for a MIG Welder to join an established manufacturing company based in Highbridge. This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity offering a four-day working week, with 37 hours worked between Monday and Thursday and every Friday off. The successful candidate will be carrying out MIG welding as part of the manufacture of the company's products, predominantly working with mild and stainless steel.
The company is looking for someone with previous MIG welding experience; however, they are happy to consider candidates whose experience has predominantly been welding mild steel and can provide training in stainless steel welding. There is also an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop their welding qualifications, with the company happy to support employees in gaining relevant welding codings in-house.
You will carry out MIG welding and fabrication work as part of the company's manufacturing process, producing components and assemblies to the required quality and specification. The role will involve welding mild steel and stainless steel, working accurately and consistently to ensure a high standard of finished work. You will be expected to prepare materials and components for welding, complete welding and fabrication work and inspect your finished work to ensure it meets the required standards. You will work closely with other members of the manufacturing and engineering teams and will be expected to maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Skills & Experience
Applicants should have previous MIG welding experience and be comfortable working within a manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environment. Experience welding mild steel is required. Previous stainless steel welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as the company is happy to provide training for a good MIG Welder who would like to develop their stainless steel welding skills. The company is particularly interested in candidates who take pride in the quality of their welding and are keen to continue developing their skills. Existing welding codings would be beneficial but are not essential. The company is willing to support the successful candidate in gaining relevant welding codings in-house.
