BMR Solutions Ltd are working in partnership with a manufacturing client in Chippenham to recruit a Shipping Administrator to support a busy logistics and warehouse operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with shipping, export or logistics administration experience to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing environment. This role will support day-to-day UK despatches, exports and imports, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, compliantly and on time.
As Shipping Administrator, you will play a key role within the Shipping and Logistics team, coordinating shipments, producing documentation and supporting customs and export compliance activities.
Key responsibilities include:- Producing paperwork and documentation for UK and export orders
- Processing export and import customs declarations
- Preparing shipping and freight documentation
- Booking shipments with freight forwarders, couriers and transport providers
- Tracking UK and international shipments
- Supporting export control and customs compliance procedures
- Checking and coding freight invoices
- Producing monthly reports and shipment data
- Liaising with warehouse teams, suppliers, drivers and customers
- Investigating shipment queries and delivery issues
- Supporting KPI achievement and on-time delivery performance
- Previous shipping, export or logistics administration experience
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
- Knowledge of import/export processes and shipping documentation
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Strong team ethic and willingness to support wider warehouse/logistics functions
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of export control or customs compliance
- MSS reporting experience
- Forklift (R.T.I.T.B.) training
- Health & Safety training
- Banksman/Crane Direction training
- Knowledge of Documentary Letters of Credit, Drafts and Bills
