We are currently recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a growing and dynamic quality team based in Bristol. The Role
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work closely with suppliers, procurement teams, and internal engineering departments to ensure robust quality standards are maintained across the supply chain. You will drive supplier performance, resolve quality issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report supplier quality performance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented quickly and effectively
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce non-conformities and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)
- Work proactively with suppliers to drive quality improvements and embed product and process requirements
- Support procurement teams with new supplier approval, assessments, and risk analysis
- Participate in supplier audits, onboarding activities, and supplier capability reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams
- Build strong, long-term supplier relationships that support quality and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background with experience in manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification (essential)
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies including:
- APQP
- SPC
- PPAP
- 8D problem solving
- Lean manufacturing
- 5 Whys
- Pareto analysis
- Six Sigma
- FMEA and root cause analysis tools
