Workshop Manager
Weston-super-Mare
Circa £55,000 per year
Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (Day shift, with occasional on-call duties and overtime)
As Workshop Manager, you’ll lead the maintenance of a diverse fleet—buses, coaches, and light vehicles—ensuring they operate at peak efficiency. You’ll maintain the highest standards, enforcing strict compliance with DVSA legislation. Reporting directly to the Director level, you’ll optimise workshop performance, manage resources effectively, and build a positive, safety-focused team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage workload, prioritise repairs, and minimise vehicle downtime.
- Ensure high maintenance standards for workshop and roadside activities.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and audit requirements.
- Oversee staffing, parts inventory, and accurate record-keeping.
- Support staff training and development, including apprentices.
- Promote our values of safety, reliability, and customer service.
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or similar.
- Advanced Irtec Accreditation.
- Experience in a supervisory/management role within PSV/HGV maintenance.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in workshop management software.
- Transport Manager CPC or PSV licence is a plus, training can be provided.
