We are partnering with a globally respected manufacturing leader to recruit a talented Technical Author for their Stroud-based team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a pioneering organisation working to the highest standards.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers and production teams to develop critical documentation for cutting-edge units and electronics assemblies. Your work will directly support product lifecycle management and uphold the company’s reputation for precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop assembly guides, test procedures, and SOPs in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Maintain and refine quality management documentation to meet industry standards.
- Implement version control systems and manage a centralized document repository.
- Produce clear, visually engaging technical content (print, digital, and multimedia).
- Streamline processes by creating modular, reusable documentation templates.
- Translate complex technical information into user-friendly guides for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe FrameMaker (or similar authoring tools).
- Expertise in Corel Draw & Photo-Paint (or equivalent graphic design software).
- Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) for technical illustrations.
- Proven background in engineering/manufacturing environments.
- Strong ability to collaborate with technical teams and extract detailed information.
- A process-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to best practices.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ownership of deliverables.
- Experience with MRP systems (advantageous but not essential).
