BMR Solutions are partnering with a specialist engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a hands-on Quality Engineer for an exciting permanent opportunity in Stroud. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled manufacturing environment producing complex electro-mechanical products, where you'll play a key role in driving quality improvements, process optimisation, and manufacturing excellence.
This is not a desk-based quality role. You'll be embedded within production, working directly with technicians and manufacturing teams across electronics, electrical, mechanical, wood shop, and finishing operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Reviewing and improving manufacturing and quality processes
- Writing and implementing SOPs, inspection procedures & quality documentation
- Supporting technicians through process improvements and change implementation
- Delivering quality training across production teams
- Driving continuous improvement to improve yield and reduce non-conformance
- Conducting inspections on electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs, wiring & finished products
- Investigating defects using 8D, 5 Whys & CAPA methodologies
- Supporting supplier quality improvement and RTV processes
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Technical Inspection
- Strong manufacturing background within electro-mechanical or technical assembly environments
- Experience improving manufacturing processes and implementing change
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Practical metrology experience (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and root-cause analysis methodologies
