BMR Solutions is currently recruiting for a Purchase Order Management Administrator on behalf of an established manufacturing client based in Clevedon. This is a key role within the purchasing and supply chain function, responsible for the effective management of purchase orders from initial placement through to delivery and invoice reconciliation.

The successful candidate will need to be highly organised, accurate and proactive, with an excellent eye for detail. You will monitor outstanding purchase orders, liaise closely with suppliers and identify potential shortages, late deliveries or supply risks before they impact production. This role would suit someone with previous experience within purchasing, procurement, materials, supply chain or purchase order administration, particularly within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, process and maintain purchase orders within the company ERP system.
  • Check purchase orders carefully to ensure pricing, quantities, supplier details and delivery dates are accurate.
  • Manage purchase orders from initial placement through to receipt and invoice reconciliation.
  • Obtain and monitor supplier order acknowledgements.
  • Liaise directly with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and obtain updates on outstanding orders.
  • Proactively monitor open purchase orders and overdue deliveries.
  • Identify potential material shortages, supply gaps and delivery risks, escalating these quickly to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Resolve discrepancies relating to quantities, pricing, delivery dates and supplier documentation.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure a high level of data integrity within the ERP system.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Materials, Planning, Production and Logistics teams to support operational requirements.
  • Assist with invoice queries and three-way matching between purchase orders, goods received and supplier invoices.
  • Produce reports and updates covering outstanding orders, overdue deliveries and potential supply risks.
  • Ensure purchasing activity is completed in accordance with company procedures and governance requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials or similar administrative environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience using an ERP or MRP system within a purchasing, materials or supply chain environment.
  • A good understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes.
  • The ability to monitor orders and recognise potential shortages or supply issues.
  • A proactive approach to chasing suppliers and resolving delivery problems.
  • Confidence escalating potential shortages or delays before they impact production.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established manufacturing organisation in Clevedon on a contract basis, with an immediate start available. The role requires someone who will take ownership of their purchase orders rather than simply processing them. You will be expected to track commitments, challenge delays, identify risks and escalate potential supply problems quickly, helping ensure materials are available when required and disruption to production is minimised.
