BMR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer to work for our client who are an engineering / manufacturing company in Bristol.

Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer Permanent

£35,000-£45,000 experience dependent

Key Skills: Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer / Workshop Assembly / Mechanical Build / Mechanical Test

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts to the required specification
  • Working to engineering drawings to build mechanical assemblies & sub-assemblies
  • Installation of component parts
  • Mechanical Build and fitting
  • Pneumatic installation
  • Product test pre completion
  • Working in a team of mechanical fitters to meet build targets
  • Machine maintenance
  • Reactive and planned maintenance (service of customer equipment on site)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Mechanical engineering skills (e.g. apprenticeship, qualification or relevant experience)
  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials
  • Ability to understand mechanical design assembly
  • Previous mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of assembling fabricated parts to engineering drawings
  • Good dexterity with the ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000 – £45,000 per year + overtime (depending on experience)

Must have valid driving licence. Some travel may be required.
