We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in a dynamic role supporting manufacturing excellence. You’ll play a pivotal role in extensive manufacturing department while contributing to process optimisation and lean manufacturing initiatives. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, resolve challenges, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support production by refining manufacturing processes to ensure relevance, efficiency, and lean practices.
- Source equipment and perform engineering tasks to maintain smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the Obsolescence Team to identify and replace outdated components.
- Plan, prioritize, and optimize resources to meet deadlines and business needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.
- Champion health and safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor team members and apprentices, sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and support other departments as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Completion of a time-served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of wiring practices and multi-skilled in electrical/mechanical tasks.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in documentation.
- Proven ability to plan workloads, communicate effectively, and work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
Beneficial Skills (Not Mandatory):
- Experience with wire looms/loom frames.
- Basic understanding of electronics.
- Driving licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or rail automation environment.
