We’re looking for a skilled Turner / Machinist who’s confident working with steel and other materials in a precision environment. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for turning and milling operations, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. You’ll be working on manual machines (and semi-manual milling as required) within a busy, fast-paced workshop where attention to detail and pride in your work really matter.
Key Responsibilities- Operate turning machines and milling machines to precision steel components.
- Interpret drawings & machining specifications, set up work, select tooling and perform machining operations.
- Ensure work meets required dimensions, surface finish and quality standards.
- Monitor work for accuracy and make adjustments as needed.
- Support other machining tasks as required to meet production demands.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace; adhere to company quality and safety protocols.
- Proven experience as a Turner / Machinist working with steel and precision components.
- Skilled in manual turning and milling operations (setting up, tooling, working to tight tolerances).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and machining specifications.
- A strong attention to detail, pride in workmanship and commitment to quality.
- Able to work under pressure to meet production schedules.
- Team-player, reliable, self-motivated and adaptable.
