Our client, a globally recognised engineering organisation, is seeking a Test Engineer β Hardware Build to join their Test Engineering team on a long-term contract basis. This opportunity would suit a hands-on Test Engineer with a strong background in hardware build, or an experienced Wireperson looking to step into a more test-focused engineering role.
Working alongside the Test Engineering department, you will be responsible for building, commissioning, and maintaining automated and manual test equipment used both internally and by external customers. The role combines practical hardware assembly with technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
- Collaborate with Test Development Engineers on hardware selection and design
- Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and external test facilities
- Apply IEC electrical safety standards and support high-voltage testing
- Provide progress updates to project teams and engineering management
Strong background in testing, development, hardware build, or related engineering disciplines. High attention to detail with a quality-focused approach. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of CAD software (ideally SolidWorks). Familiarity with IEC electrical safety standards and safety testing. Exposure to automotive, railway, or BS standards.
