Manufacturing high-quality engineered products through a combination of wood machining, electronics, assembly and finishing processes, they have built an outstanding reputation for quality, innovation and customer service.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Works Manager to lead all production operations and play a key role in the future development of the business.
The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Works Manager will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of manufacturing operations across two production sites.
Leading a team of approximately 100 Engineers, Technicians and Production personnel, you will ensure production targets, quality standards and customer delivery requirements are consistently achieved whilst continuing to develop both the business and its people.
This is a highly visible senior leadership position where you will work in close partnership with the Managing Director and other departmental leaders.
You will be expected to provide strategic input whilst remaining hands-on enough to support the shop floor whenever the business demands it.
The successful individual will thrive within a collaborative environment, acting as a central point of reference for all operational matters and helping to shape the future direction of the manufacturing function.
Responsibilities Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of production operations across two manufacturing sites.
Lead, motivate and develop a workforce of approximately 100 Engineers, Technicians and Production personnel.
Ensure production schedules are achieved safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Manage production planning, capacity planning and scheduling to ensure customer delivery commitments are met.
Oversee the order book, manufacturing priorities and operational resource planning.
Drive continuous improvements across manufacturing processes, productivity, quality and efficiency.
Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Design and Commercial teams to ensure the business operates collaboratively.
Act as the operational point of reference for all departments, ensuring effective communication across the organisation.
Support strategic business planning alongside the Managing Director.
