Are you an apprentice-trained or highly skilled Mechanical Fitter available for an immediate contract? We are seeking a skilled technician to join a global leader in sustainable process and packaging technology at their world-class manufacturing facility in Bristol. Working within a close-knit, supportive production team, you will play a critical role in building complex, high-speed secondary packaging machinery from the ground up.
What You Will Do:
- Precision Assembly: Build and commission complex machines, modules, and precision sub-assemblies.
- Interpret Blueprint Specs: Work confidently from engineering drawings and detailed 3D models.
- System Integration: Fit and pipe pneumatic and water circuits using copper or plastic pipework.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure all builds meet exact specifications, completing quality documentation and supporting 5S workplace standards.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate closely with electrical assembly technicians and design engineers during testing and commissioning phases.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Proven background in mechanical assembly, fitting, or production within a machine-building or high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Technical Literacy: Absolute competence in reading engineering drawings and understanding Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Qualifications: Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, apprentice-trained, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Key Skills: Strong manual dexterity, a keen eye for detail, and familiarity with pneumatic systems. Any supporting electrical assembly skills are highly desirable.
- Availability: Ready to commit to a 6-month temporary contract with a proactive, team-focused attitude.
