This is a fantastic opportunity for a smart, motivated problem-solver to be the first-ever senior data hire at this London-based global firm, joining the Business Engineering team that develops and enhances systems used across the business, including front office trading, middle office operations and actuarial functions. You would work with other highly experienced engineers to design and develop data services across the business, including feed and trade processing systems, as well as data pipelines to extract and transform critical data used by strategists.
Successful candidates would have the potential to make a real impact from day one with a great deal of influence and ownership over their work. This is a unique opportunity for huge impact and progression within a well-established firm.
Requirements
- 5+ years\’ experience of data engineering (within financial services is preferred, but not necessary)
- Solid experience of data integration, modelling, optimisation and data quality tools and techniques
- Experience with AWS is a must-have
- Knowledge of SDLC and development best practices
Desirable
- Experience with any of the following: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL database technologies
- Familiarity developing and maintaining data warehouses/lakes using big data solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)
