BMLL was acquired in 2025 by Nordic Capital, alongside minority shareholder Optiver, marking a joint commitment to accelerate the company's next phase of growth. We offer an inclusive and collaborative culture, a hybrid working environment that includes regular days in our London office, weekly team lunches, and a variety of out-of-hours social activities.
About the role
We are seeking a highly organized and technically fluent Technical Project Manager to lead planning and delivery within Content Engineering. You will act as the vital bridge between Product strategy and Engineering execution. This role is suited to someone with strong delivery ownership who understands the nuances of market data, data platforms, and high-volume processing systems. You will own quarterly planning, OKRs, and execution, ensuring our senior engineers can focus on building rather than coordinating. If you excel at bringing order to complex technical environments, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Delivery: Lead quarterly planning and OKR definition. Own end-to-end delivery plans, meticulously accounting for technical dependencies, risks, and constraints.
- Capacity & Flow: Manage team capacity and workload planning to drive realistic, predictable outcomes. Track sprint progress, identify risks early, and proactively unblock the engineering team.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with Product and Engineering to define scope, priorities, and pragmatic delivery approaches. Translate complex technical requirements into structured, actionable delivery roadmaps.
- Process Engineering: Establish and evolve our Agile delivery processes, governance, and reporting standards. Drive continuous improvement in execution discipline and team efficiency.
In this dynamic role, your focus shifts to where you are needed most. You might start your morning reviewing delivery progress and identifying risks, spend the afternoon partnering with engineers to unblock a pipeline issue, and end the day aligning stakeholders on priorities for the next sprint.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 3–6 years in Technical Project Management, Scrum Master, or Programme Delivery roles.
- Domain Knowledge: Hands‑on experience working with data platforms, data engineering teams, or market data systems.
- Methodology: Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies. Proven track record of delivering complex, cross‑functional technical projects.
- Delivery Mastery: Expertise in capacity planning, dependency management, and roadmap execution.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly, tailoring your message to influence both deep‑technical engineers and non‑technical business stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Background in financial services, trading, or market data environments.
- Exposure to modern data infrastructure (e.g., data pipelines, distributed systems, data lakes, AWS).
- Industry certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Scrum Master (CSM/PSM).
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- Predictability: Delivery is well‑structured and consistently aligned to quarterly OKRs.
- Visibility: Stakeholders have clear, real‑time visibility into team capacity, timelines, and risks.
- Focus: Engineering teams report a significant reduction in coordination overhead, allowing them to focus deeply on technical delivery.
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Discretionary Bonus
- Pension Scheme
- Private Medical Insurance
- Work remotely abroad for up to 40 business days each year
- Life Insurance
