We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about leadership, clinical excellence, and service improvement to take on a key operational leadership role within the organisation, joining the wider Operational Leadership Team.

Job Summary

The Clinical Operational Lead is responsible for the operational leadership of the regional multidisciplinary clinical team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality psychological services. Working closely with the Clinical Director and the wider Operational Leadership Team, the successful candidate will lead and develop clinicians, oversee clinical governance and quality assurance, drive continuous improvement, and support the ongoing growth and success of our services. Alongside maintaining a reduced clinical caseload, the postholder will provide visible leadership across the region, ensuring our clinicians are supported to deliver outstanding care while maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing clinical and operational leadership across the East Midlands, South & London Hub.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a multidisciplinary team of clinicians.
  • Supporting clinician wellbeing, performance, and professional development.
  • Leading clinical governance activities including quality assurance, incident management, safeguarding, complaints, and clinical audit.
  • Monitoring operational performance, capacity, and service delivery against agreed standards.
  • Driving service improvement and embedding evidence-based practice across the region.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues, commissioners, and partner organisations.
  • Supporting business growth and the mobilisation of new services.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Registration with equivalent professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, ACP).
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent), or Recognised qualification in relevant discipline, or accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A passion for developing others and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience of clinical governance, quality assurance, and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound operational judgement and the ability to balance clinical and operational priorities.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • A genuine desire to contribute to the future development of bMindful.
