We are seeking a qualified and passionate Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our growing team. You will provide specialist therapeutic support to children and young people experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, working closely with families, schools, and professionals to deliver tailored interventions that achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct specialist psychological assessments using a range of tools (tests, rating scales, observations, and multi-agency information)
- Formulate and implement tailored therapeutic intervention plans
- Deliver one-to-one therapy sessions and provide ongoing reviews with parents/carers
- Consult with educators, parents, and care providers to support holistic therapeutic care
- Exercise professional judgment in assessment, formulation, intervention, and discharge planning
- Advise colleagues on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of interventions
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records in line with professional and legal standards
- Contribute to service development, team meetings, and supervision sessions
Qualifications and Skills
- Recognised qualification in psychotherapy or related discipline
- Registration with a professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, ACP)
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within the Child Looked After sector
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, families, and professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
