Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
bMindful Psychology are currently recruiting an Occupational Therapist to support our clients in the North West region. At bMindful Psychology, our team aim to support, develop and enhance children’s emotional and psychological wellbeing. We do this in a number of ways and with a wide variety of individuals and organisations providing high quality therapeutic and clinical services and training for professionals, parents and young people.
As the Occupational Therapist, you will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team with the aim of equipping the children and young people with the skills needed for increased independence and community living. You will identify the goals of the children and young people collaboratively, then plan and implement evidence-based interventions which use strengths and overcome obstacles to goal attainment aimed at restoring socially valued roles and social inclusion. You will carry out interventions in environments most suitable to the therapy and the aim of social inclusion. You will also work with your care and education colleagues in the MDT to contribute to detailed risk assessments to inform therapeutic risk taking on site and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:- To undertake a comprehensive assessment of children including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies.
- Use advanced reasoning skills and assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis.
- Formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
- Using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills e.g. Occupational Therapy treatment techniques, cognitive assessment, patient education, exercise classes and other alternative options.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals.
- Hold a small caseload and offer specialist support and guidance to team members when required.
- Ensure a high standard of clinical care for the children/clients under your management and support team members to do likewise.
- With all disciplines in the community, including other Occupational Therapists, provide continuity of care and promotion of integrated care across the range of children’s services, care, education and family settings.

Qualifications and Skills:- BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
- Evidence of CPD maintained.
- Significant experience in the delivery of specialist Occupational Therapies particularly with children and adolescents.
