We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work alongside colleagues in care and education to equip children and young people with the skills they need for greater independence and community living. You will collaborate with children and young people to identify their goals, then plan and implement evidence-based interventions that build on strengths, overcome barriers, and restore socially valued roles. Interventions will be delivered in the most suitable environments to promote inclusion, and you will contribute to detailed risk assessments to support therapeutic risk-taking both on site and in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of children, including those with complex or multiple needs
  • Use advanced reasoning and assessment techniques to provide accurate diagnoses
  • Formulate and deliver individualised Occupational Therapy treatment programmes based on evidence-based practice
  • Apply a range of treatment skills, such as cognitive assessment, patient education, therapy techniques, and group interventions
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals, offering advice and guidance on complex cases
  • Hold a small caseload while providing specialist support and guidance to colleagues as required
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of clinical care for children under your management and support team members to do likewise
  • Work collaboratively with other Occupational Therapists and professionals across health, education, and social care to ensure continuity of care
  • Promote integrated, multidisciplinary approaches to care planning and service delivery

Qualifications

  • BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC)
  • Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD
  • Significant experience delivering specialist Occupational Therapy, particularly with children and adolescents
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of professionals across sectors
  • Expertise in promoting independence, skill-building, and wellbeing
  • Ability to create personalised, child-centred therapy plans
  • Commitment to collaborative working with families, schools, and healthcare professionals
