BMI UK&I have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Project Specification Manager-Flat Refurb to join our team.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, this role is home based but will require travel around the North East of England.

We are seeking a driven, solution-oriented Project Specification Manager to lead our Flat Refurbishment growth across the North East of England.
In this role, you won't just be selling products; you’ll act as a key technical consultant, integrating complete flat roofing systems and delivering our market-leading Spec Master guarantees to specifiers, architects, and main contractors.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our North East Flat Refurbishment expert, you will bridge the gap between architectural design and real-world execution.
- Drive Specification Sales: Promote BMI’s comprehensive flat roofing systems, embedding our high-value Spec Master guarantees into project specifications.
- Active

Management: Conduct around 12 customer and site visits per week to build strong client relationships, identify refurbishment opportunities, and drive revenue growth.
- End-to-End Technical Support: Provide expertise on specification guarantees, guiding projects from early design through to site installation and final sign-off.
- Commercial Excellence: Manage accurate sales forecasts, spot new business opportunities, and keep pipeline records seamless using our SAP C4C CRM system.
- A Hands-On, Active Field Role
This is an engaging, immersive field position where conducting real-world site diagnostics is crucial to delivering the right solution.
- To thrive in this role, you should enjoy being out on site and be fully comfortable with:
- Working at Heights: Safely climbing ladders, navigating scaffolding, and inspecting flat roof decks at elevation.
- Physical On-Site Surveying: Getting hands-on-including getting down on your knees to inspect roof surfaces, probe membranes, take core samples, and record precision measurements.
- Year-Round Site Work: Visiting active refurbishment projects across the North East in all weather conditions (full safety PPE provided).
- What We’re Looking For
- Technical Construction Sales: Proven experience in solution or specification sales within building materials, roofing, or waterproofing.
- Specification Expertise: Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and influence project specs alongside architects, surveyors, and contractors.
- Physical Confidence: Fully comfortable working at heights and performing active, hands-on site surveys safely.
- Territory & CRM Management: Excellent organisational skills to manage high-volume visit schedules (12/week) and CRM tracking (SAP C4C experience is a plus).
- Licence & Location: Full UK Driver’s Licence, based in or near the North East of England territory.
