Role Summary
The purpose of this role is to drive the adoption and integration of BMI's comprehensive system offerings into the Specification and Architect market. This will be achieved by providing solution-oriented value to Architects, Building Owners and Key Specifiers, with a specific focus on maximizing the utilisation of our SpecMaster systems and guarantees.
Your key responsibilities
- Key Account Management: Proactively manage and maintain relationships with key accounts within our defined Quadrants, ensuring their satisfaction and continued business and growth. Focus support on our approved specifier business.
- Business Development & Growth: Drive new business opportunities through a proactive approach, identifying and converting prospects into loyal customers as well as growing existing customers.
- Lead Generation: Develop a customer base through arranging CPD and presentation meetings and using Lead generation tools to qualify and drive engagement for the Specification Team focused on key areas of growth (Data centres, Education, New Build etc).
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure all business development and account management activities are fully aligned with overall portfolio strategies and target market objectives.
- CRM Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all customer interactions, activities, and opportunities within the C4C (Customer for Customer) system.
- Pipeline Analysis: Maintain the pipeline tracking for the Specification team (in line with C4C) and provide analysis on trends and pipeline application.
- Customer Engagement: Conduct a minimum of 16 proactive phone calls to customers each week to develop relationships, identify needs, small project support and drive engagement.
Your key skills and experience
- Experience in a sales or business development role within the building materials or construction industry, ideally with a focus on roofing or full system solutions.
- Direct experience selling into the Specifier/Architect market segment.
- Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving new business.
- Demonstrable experience utilising a CRM system, with strong preference for SAP C4C.
- Experience with specification selling or supporting architects/specifiers would be highly advantageous, given the emphasis on SpecMaster.
- Exposure to, or understanding of, guarantees and warranties in the construction sector.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure profitable deals and close sales effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interactions (especially over the phone), presentations, and internal reporting.
- A genuine focus on understanding and addressing customer needs, aiming to add value and build lasting partnerships.
- Efficiently manage a diverse workload, including account maintenance, proactive outreach, and reporting, to meet weekly targets.
- Self-starter with a forward-thinking approach to identifying opportunities and taking action.
- Driven by targets and committed to achieving sales goals and maximising system adoption.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams, particularly in supporting the Regional Sales Directors and aligning with portfolio strategies.
