We partner with clients to inform decision making, shape policy, and guide investment - leading to better public services, positive customer experiences, and a fairer, more equitable society. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Insight Director to join our Business and Industry Practice on a 12‑month maternity cover contract. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on delivering high‑impact insight, driving commercial success, and shaping best practice across our Business & Industry portfolio.
You will combine deep methodological expertise with commercial acumen, overseeing the design and delivery of insight programmes that drive meaningful impact. You will work closely with senior stakeholders—both internal and client‑side—to ensure our research is robust, insightful, and drives decision‑making within the complexity of business research. This role will be Hybrid (60% Office Based) in either our offices in London or Birmingham.
- Insight Leadership & Delivery
- Act as senior advisor on research design across Business & Industry projects, ensuring methodological rigor and best practice.
- Provide final sign‑off on questionnaires, analysis plans, reports, and deliverables.
- Lead qualitative fieldwork, including depth interviews and focus groups.
- Oversee quantitative and mixed‑method approaches, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and impactful outputs.
- Integrate data sources and champion new technologies and innovative approaches.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted strategic relationships with senior Business & Industry clients.
- Lead workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex projects or accounts.
- Commercial & Business Development
- Lead proposals and pitches for medium and large Business & Industry opportunities.
- Identify and convert growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Contribute to revenue delivery through ownership of the Business & Industry portfolio’s commercial pipeline.
- Practice Leadership
- Shape and drive the Business & Industry Practice strategy, supporting cross‑business improvement and innovation.
- Mentor, coach, and guide team members across projects.
- Ensure resources, capability, and processes support exceptional delivery.
What You’ll Bring

- Deep expertise in research methodologies—quantitative, qualitative, or mixed‑method.
