We are seeking a Home Manager to manage the home on a daily basis, to the satisfaction of the Proprietors and the Statutory Authorities, and in the best interest of the residents.
Working with agreed budgets, leading the staff, and promoting the home.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to
Effective monitoring of appropriate care delivery systems and routines which meet the needs of the residents. To include:
- Assessing the needs of current, prospective and new residents
- Implementing and monitoring drug systems and stock
- Implementing and monitoring care plan systems
- To have a clear understanding and auditing the effectiveness of the Mobile Care Monitor system (MCM).
- Liaising with Nurse, GP’s and other medical professionals
- Providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Providing necessary equipment and supplies
- Meeting individual residents regularly
- Provision for therapy to deal with the spiritual, emotional, physical and mental needs of residents
- Maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct skill mix of staff
- Frequent communication with care staff on care issues
- Supporting family and friends of residents when necessary
- Monitoring dependency levels on a weekly basis by completing the Rhys Hearn Tool.
- Ensure audits are completed as per the monthly schedule.
Work within agreed budgets by effectively managing resources and ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of the Home. To include:
- Adhering to all budgets which are set, working in line with the monthly purchasing cost report.
- Managing staff costs effectively including the resistance to use agency staff
- Ensuring the employee computerised TMS System is completed accurately and on time
- Carrying out regular stock takes
- Managing residents finances in accordance with company procedures
- Processing paperwork accurately and promptly
- Ensure a clear understanding of systems that are used, Cold Harbour, TMS etc.
- Forwarding all details on bed occupancy on time
- Ensuring where necessary with assistance from Head Office, all debts are collected on time
Ensure that all Company, Registration, Purchasing and Statutory Requirements are comply with:
- Ensuring that all agreed standards and requirements of care and service are achieved
- Participating in Quality Assurance Inspections
- Maintaining correct Statutory and Company records
- Complying with CQC regulations.
- Complying with all Fire Regulations
- Complying with all Health and Safety requirements
- Complying with all Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions
- Complying with all Food Hygiene legislation
- Ensure to keep up to date with all internal Quality Management Systems and external regulations.
Recruit, develop and lead a highly effective team of staff
- To work in line with the Company’s culture and ethos promoting Commitment, Connection and Compassion within daily duties.
- To support staff to work in line with the Company’s core values of Commitment, Connection and Compassion, by demonstrating these behaviours within all aspects of the role.
- Ensuring effective induction training for all staff
- Implementing the Company Performance Appraisal
- Developing and implementing appropriate training for staff
- Carrying out disciplinary and grievance procedures as outlined
- Planning staff rotas and off duty
- Supporting staff as required
- Delegating responsibility as appropriate
- Ensuring all correct recruitment procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Complying with all policies in relation to the recruitment and retention of staff.
- Maintaining staff morale and staff discipline.
- Ensure all staff have a DBS check carried out every three years as per company policy.
- Ensure that all staff have the right to work in the UK and all appropriate checks are conducted.
- Become the leader and motivate your staff.
- Ensure the Rose Model Dementia care is embedded within the home.
Promote the Home professionally and effectively in the community, maintain private bed occupancy and support corporate marketing:
- Organising regular residents and relatives meetings where necessary
- Promoting company image in the Community
- Promote community links, your home becomes the hub for local community activities i. e. memory café, intergeneration activities.
- Having an Activities/Events Programme
- Maintaining fee levels
- Providing hospitality to relatives and visitors.
- Dealing effectively with all enquires without delay.
- Supporting and promoting corporate marketing activities and Recruitment Initiatives
Ensure the provision of appropriate support services including, catering, laundry, cleaning and property maintenance:
- Maintaining all equipment in a safe condition
- Maintaining the building and grounds
- Monitoring work of any external contractor
- Maintaining correct levels of supplies
- Providing an appropriate and efficient catering service
- Providing an appropriate and efficient laundry service
- Dealing with general correspondence
- Implementing and monitoring all necessary service contracts
Essential Skills, Characteristics and Experience
- To be registered with CQC.
- Effective communication with all levels of staff including drafting professional emails and letters.
- To be a positive leader and role model, to lead by example.
- Ability to manage own time effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and to be flexible within role.
- To be passionate about person centred care and the resident’s wellbeing.
- Ability to develop staff and recognise key strengths amongst team.
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage with staff at all levels.
- To be business minded and maintain a professional attitude to work at all times.
- To hold a clean full UK driving licence
- To be qualified to NVQ Level 5 or Registered Manager Award (RMA) or equivalent.
