A Laundry/Kitchen Assistant is responsible for ensuring that every resident enjoys clean and well-maintained laundry that meets the required standards. Additionally, as a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist in preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean kitchen, and supporting the cook with meal preparation when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
Laundry Assistant:
- Efficiently manage the laundering of clothing and linen to prevent unnecessary build-up.
- Ensure laundry is correctly identified for loading into washers and dryers.
- Have knowledge of wash and drying programs for different fabrics and separate laundry accordingly.
- Maintain regular stock of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- Maintain laundry equipment and regularly de-fluff dryers, reporting any defects to the Manager or Housekeeper.
Kitchen Assistant:
- Assist the cook in preparing vegetables and support during busy periods.
- Clean cooking equipment, including the cooker, oven hot plate, Bain Maries, fridges, and freezers, following the cleaning schedule.
- Follow the cleaning schedule as directed by the Head Cook.
- Handle waste bags in accordance with health, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Keep tea trolleys and trays clean at all times.
- Maintain the dishwasher to the required standards as per cleaning schedules.
