Highly successful Sales Order team seeks a skilled Sales Order Specialist to work closely with our sales organization in preparing and validating license & support deals (not renewals) for submission to Order Service Coordinators. You’ll serve as a single point of contact for field sales for UK & Ireland and NL & GOSI, operating independently and providing support to other team members when needed. This is a highly visible role working with some of our most successful sales teams, supporting prestigious enterprise clients.
As a Sales Order Specialist you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing guidance and support to sales on quote preparation related to Commercial-, Legal- and RevRec policies, order processing and customer order issues.
- Providing Legal Level 1 support and generating contractual agreements.
- Order Processing – Review, validate and process all orders with focus on accuracy and completion for submission.
- Proactively communicate with Field Sales and/or managers on order issues and keep them informed of any problems resolving issues.
- Ensure all orders are submitted on a timely basis according to established order submission deadlines.
- Develop & maintain a detailed working knowledge of Revenue Recognition and Revenue Accounting policies concerning the licensing of software & support, SOX controls applicable to the Quote to Cash process, Order Entry (OE+) application, SFDC and Siebel to support order management.
- Provide support and assist in the resolution & clarification of order information, invoicing, collections, and passwords.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of BMC’s licensing model, and pricing, to provide quoting support to our EMEA Sales Team.
- Proactively understand customer needs and identify solutions to nonstandard tasks/queries.
- Monitor and control costs within own work horizons.
- Identify key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data; take a broad perspective to problems and spot new, less obvious solutions.
- Share experience/knowledge with others; provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.
To be a successful Sales Order Specialist we ideally look for:
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in all processes.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and courteously with others to obtain required documentation necessary to perform and realize revenue on license sale.
- Ability to work remotely and use escalation processes.
- Clear and grammatically correct verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of Order Services back-office applications, with understanding of administrative processes.
- Knowledge and experience with license and/or software accounting, legal operations, and license revenue recognition requirements is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Oracle, SFDC, and financial operations processes.
- Working knowledge of Office suite applications.
- Intermediate experience with Business Objects is a plus.
- Experience with communication tools such as Phone, messaging, Chat, Share applications.
- Ability to see, define, and resolve issues, tackling both tactical and root-cause issues.
- Ability to work on multiple transactions within a range of complexity.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt style to audience, explain difficult information clearly, establish consensus, and attain agreement.
- Create an informal network within team and other BMC departments.
