BMC is looking for a backend development Team manager with hands-on experience and passion for innovation and technology!
As a Team manager you will be leading a cutting edge team with responsibility for Enterprise Manager services. This application is in the core of our worldwide leading workload automation product (Control-M), a product that enables the worlds’ largest companies to automate their applications/services.
The teams are responsible for the design, architecture, and development of new and innovative solutions that exposes Control-M to developers and DevOps engineers as well as taking it to the next level in a SaaS model.
This role provides an opportunity to lead both technically and personally; you will be expected to provide technical as well as creative leadership, as the mission of transforming sophisticated backend servers to a SaaS solution is far from trivial.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct management of employees, including hiring, coaching/mentoring and guiding team members (day-to-day, hands-on leadership).
- Understanding the product and the customer’s needs.
- Contributing to a long-term vision for product architecture and engineering development.
- Close interaction with the customer support organization and other interfaces.
- 8+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Proven experience with large-scale enterprise systems, microservices and distributed systems
- Direct experience communicating with enterprise customers, including handling technical calls, addressing concerns, and presenting solutions
- Strong technical skills
- Wide experience in development tools, methods, and processes
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and stream processing systems (Kafka, Redis)
- Prior experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS products
