We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our client Accountancy Practice in Stockton. The role is best suited to someone with proven experience in a similar role, and can oversee and delegate the Bookkeeping operations in a busy practice. There is no direct line management involved, but you must be organised and a strong communicator. Salary up to £37,000 per annum, and office based with the occasional day working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping duties including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial reports for management
- Liaise with external accountants and support audit preparation
- Oversee the bookkeeping operations and mentor where required
What We\’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar senior bookkeeping role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- AAT qualification (or equivalent)
