BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for their client in Team Valley, Gateshead. You may be ready to take a step up from your current finance role to enhance your skills and experience or maybe you are simply ready for a change and would like to join a new team. You are not afraid to get stuck in and make a difference; you must be hard working and ready to take on a challenge at the start of each day!
Ideally you will have studied your AAT and are now working towards ACCA/CIMA. This is not essential; you may be qualified by experience. The office currently operates full time hours at 37.5 a week, if you’re looking to work reduced hours of 30, this can be considered. There is flexibility to work over 4 days or 5 to suit other commitments you may have.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting schedules
- Assist with cost analysis and reporting
- Support year-end audit and statutory reporting processes
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain financial information
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
- Understanding of management accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Studying towards or holding an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred, but not essential
