BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join their client’s team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. This role is instrumental in providing support and guidance to junior members of the team as well as taking the lead on strategic initiatives across the organisation.
LGPS Hybrid working, 3 days office based in Sunderland, 2 days working from home.
About the role:
- Lead a small payroll team, monitoring their performance and providing feedback.
- Manage the organisations end to end in house payroll service with high levels of accuracy.
- Manage the organisations pension scheme, ensuring compliance with pension legislation.
- Lead in salary reviews and increases.
- Provide payroll information for use in management reporting.
- Liaise with pension providers and disseminate information to staff.
- Develop the reward and benefits offering across the organisation, including new salary sacrifice schemes.
- Lead on pensions and payroll audit.
- Lead on continuous improvement to ensure optimisation of processes.
About you:
- Proven experience as a payroll manager, with experience of supporting a team.
- Experience of managing end to end payroll in a large organisation.
- Knowledge of statutory payroll and HMRC regulations.
- Experienced in leading pensions and payroll audits.
- Experience of contributing to the creation of benefits strategies is desirable.
