Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Property Services division delivering a diverse portfolio of capital improvement and maintenance projects across North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who enjoys working across a varied project portfolio, managing costs, contracts and commercial performance from project inception through to completion.

Working closely with Project Managers, contractors and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports
  • Supporting procurement and tender evaluation processes
  • Managing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
  • Supporting contract administration and risk management activities
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and project documentation
  • Working collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement
  • Supporting profitability and cost efficiency across multiple projects

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction, property, maintenance, refurbishment, infrastructure or capital projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
  • Experience managing contracts, valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Membership of, or aspirations towards, a professional body such as RICS, CIOB or equivalent would be advantageous
