Duties/Responsibilities
– Lead and deliver automation projects through their entire lifecycle, from design to handover
– Develop Functional Design Specifications and PLC, HMI, SCADA software
– Conduct bench testing and integrated testing with control panels at our manufacturing facility
– Engage with SI and LV engineering delivery teams and multiple client stakeholders to complete FAT
– Oversee commissioning at client sites and complete SAT
– Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 engineers, ensuring efficient workload distribution
– Collaborate closely with Project Managers to meet contractual milestones
– Review design documents and test software developed by team members
About You
– Minimum of 8 years systems engineering experience
– Strong knowledge of safe working practices near electrical equipment
– High regard for health and safety
– Excellent organisational and communication skills
– Positive, approachable, and a good team player
– Proficient in PLC and HMI software development using devices from Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider
– Experience with multiple communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP and PA, Modbus TCP/IP
– Familiarity with SCADA systems and VSDs
– Knowledge and experience in virtual machines (VMWare)
– Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word & Excel
– Full UK driving licence required
