Chief Draughtsperson

BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Chief Draughtsperson to join a client who are in the engineering sector based in Derby.

Duties/Responsibilities
– Ensure on-time delivery of compliant detail designs with a high level of quality
– Oversee and approve design definition models and manufacturing drawings
– Manage subcontract detail design from a technical perspective
– Ensure drafting work adheres to company processes and standards
– Maintain and update relevant processes to meet business needs
– Provide support and advice on task planning drawings to other business members
– Promote value engineering activities and cost reduction initiatives
– Support the capability management of drafting resources

About You
– Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
– Strong background in mechanical engineering principles and processes
– Proven experience in a responsible mechanical engineering position
– Detail design checking experience
– Familiarity with design of fabrication details (desirable)
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Strong communication and problem-solving skills
