Mark Hall Academy is seeking a committed, organised, and compassionate Thinking Reading Tutor to join our team and play a vital role in improving literacy outcomes for our students. This role supports young people who need additional support to access learning and fulfil their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Thinking Reading Programme, a structured and evidence‑based intervention for students significantly behind in reading.
- Conduct carefully planned one‑to‑one sessions to build students’ confidence, improve reading fluency, and develop the literacy skills needed across the curriculum.
- Maintain consistency, encouragement, and positive relationships to support student progress.
- Keep accurate records of progress and collaborate with the wider teaching team.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons.
