Position:Freelance Senior Marketing Executive, Events

Contract: Freelance, working 2 days a week for a duration of 6 months.

BMJ is seeking a freelance Senior Marketing Executive to join the B2B Marketing team part‑time (2 days a week) and working remotely. The Marketing Executive will be responsible for the creation and implementation of engagement and nurture materials and marketing campaigns to support our customer base in raising awareness and adoption of BMJ Products, mainly BMJ Best Practice, and BMJ Journals

Support the Exhibition Marketing Manager and wider B2B team by:

Assisting in the end‑to‑end planning, coordination, and execution of promotional campaigns for webinars, conferences, trade shows, and industry exhibitions.

Creating engaging copy, email nurture sequences, digital assets, and post‑event follow‑up campaigns to drive attendance and lead conversion across the UK and Europe.

Collaborating with graphic designers and external print vendors to produce event collateral, including exhibition stands, flyers, posters, digital assets, and user guides.

Managing email marketing campaigns (via platforms such as Adestra) to raise product awareness ahead of key events.

Participating in quarterly performance reviews to assess deliverable quality and track progress against strategic milestones.

Managing your own workload, defined budgets, and customer data in accordance with GDPR and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in planning or supporting B2B event marketing campaigns across both in‑person events and webinars (essential).

Confidence in writing compelling promotional copy for email marketing, social assets, and printed event collateral (essential).

Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Adestra) and marketing automation software (preferred).

Excellent communication and project management skills with a strong track record of stakeholder collaboration (essential).

High IT competence, including Google Workspace applications and digital tools (essential).

A degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent practical marketing experience (preferred).

A solid understanding of healthcare systems and healthcare professionals' needs (desirable).
