About the role
We're looking for a Platform Engineer Principal to join our Technology Services team. As part of the Platforms team you will be responsible for maintaining our on‑premise and Azure infrastructure ensuring our server and IT infrastructure estate is configured to meet security baselines, patched and backed up. You'll also maintain and monitor the Azure back‑end infrastructure and Windows suite of domain services.
If you have proven experience working within Microsoft Azure alongside specialist knowledge in managing a Windows Server estate then this could be the role for you.
To be successful as Platform Engineer Principal you'll have:
- Demonstrable experience in an infrastructure administrator role or equivalent
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure, configuring services and an understanding of core cloud concepts
- Proven and specialist knowledge in managing a Windows Server estate
- A solid understanding of cyber security principles and experience with defining and maintaining security baselines across Windows devices and IS027001
- Knowledge of infrastructure backups both cloud and on‑premise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the association
- Awareness in ITIL, ideally trained on its importance (desirable)
- Relevant technical qualifications in Microsoft and cloud‑based technologies such as AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate
- Experience with Azure Update Manager and BICEP IaC (desirable)
