We\’re looking for a detail orientated, self-motivated Transport Team Manager to join our Distribution Centre in Ellesmere Port.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in a key operational area, which plays a vital role in keeping over 750 stores stocked and ready to serve our 4 million customers every week.
What you\’ll be doing
As a Transport Team Manager, you will be managing our Loading teams, as well as our HGV Drivers, to ensure that deliveries are loaded accurately, safely and our trucks are in a sound operational state.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct driver pre‑shift briefings and post shift de‑briefs
- General day to day management of Drivers
- R2C data entry, as well as completing Scania grading/reports
- Conducting return to work meetings, probation reviews and conduct/absence investigations
- Liaise with and support the retail teams when required
- Liaise with and report near misses to relevant Warehousing based teams
- Assist Transport Shift Manager with their duties when required.
What we\’re looking for
We\’re looking for someone who has experience managing a team of drivers. You should also be aware of the Health and Safety requirements of working around HGV\’s and in a warehouse Environment.
You’ll need to have:
- Demonstrable experience in managing a team
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- Strong IT skills and able to input/control data
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive professional relationships with colleagues at all levels.
