This job is an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team, based at our Liverpool site. The role will report to and support the General Manager with the day-to-day management of all warehouse activities, store order fulfilment and associated processes/procedures.
You will be responsible for the warehouse management team and its overall performance as well as driving continuous improvement across the distribution centre. The role will require a flexible working pattern to support the 24/7 nature of the operation.
Key Accountabilities:- Leadership of a highly demanding FMCG distribution operation
- Responsible for all warehouse operational departments/functions within the DC
- Driving continuous improvement within those areas
- Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilisation
- Ensure that training is ongoing and specific to meet the current and future needs of the operation
- Effectively manage the fluctuating workload and manning levels within agreed overall costs
- Support the labour planning function with input into ensuring cost effectiveness along with operations requirements
- Focus on costs ensuring overspend and surplus costs are managed with scrutiny
- Promote and adhere to safe working practices in line with Health and Safety Legislation
- Senior Leadership experience in an FMCG warehouse
- A passion for service excellence, and a tenacious approach in the pursuit of objectives & results
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence up and down the chain
- Commitment to develop strategies/plans aligned with the organisational strategy
- Open minded and able to embrace and influence change with all colleagues, including Senior Management
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, knowing your customer and your competitor environment
- Able to develop and maintain good relationships and influence at all levels, have the confidence to deputise in the absence of the GM
