Job Purpose
The Quality Operative is responsible for ensuring that all products, materials and processes meet Barclay and Mathieson quality standards and customer requirements. The role supports continuous improvement, compliance and operational excellence.
Quality Inspection & Control
- Goods in checks
- Pre dispatch checks
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections
- Verify products meet specifications
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials
- Support quarantine procedures
- Maintain inspection records and Mango
Compliance & Standards
- Follow QMS procedures
- Assist internal audits
- Maintain quality records
- Promotw HSE and quality compliance
Continuous Improvement
- Support root cause analysis
- Assist corrective actions
- Report quality trends
- Contribute improvement ideas
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Support customer complaint investigations
- Assist supplier quality activities
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain reports and databases
- Escalate quality concerns promptly
- Work closely with the management team to ensure quality standards are met
Health & Safety Responsibilies
- Comply with company H&S procedures
- Use PPE
- Report hazards and near misses
- Maintain a clean working environment
Essential Requirements
- Previous manufacturing/quality experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- FLT License
