We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Operations Manager to join our supply chain team, based in our Liverpool distribution centre. This role will report to and support the General Manager with the day to day management of the transport activities. You will be responsible for the transport team and its overall performance as well as driving continuous improvement. The role will require a flexible working pattern to support the 24/7 nature of the operation.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and motivate a fleet of drivers and transport support staff/management
- Drive the transport operation to achieve the targeted daily and weekly KPIs
- Monitor performance levels, driving a quality service to our stores & the customer
- Manage the operation, maintaining all yard operations
- Ensure that the department complies with Road Traffic Act legislation
- Manage the Transport Operations budget, ensuring added value to the Transport function
Experience/Skills
- Managerial experience in a transport environment & up to date knowledge of transport legislation
- A Road Haulage Management CPC qualification is essential
- Commercially astute
- Excellent Customer Service awareness
- Strong Health & Safety experience
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
