Join our creative team as a Homeware Surface Pattern Designer! Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for homeware design? We have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your ideas to life at our vibrant Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool (L24). This is a permanent position, based full time in the office, where you’ll collaborate with an amazing design team to shape the future of homeware products.
This is your chance to become a key part of a fast-growing retail business with over 750 stores and counting! As part of our B&M Surface Design Team, you’ll work on a vast range of projects, from textiles to homeware, gifting, paper goods, and garden accessories. You’ll have the opportunity to flex your creative muscles and make a real impact in a dynamic and expanding business.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Designing stunning patterns and creating innovative new ideas for hundreds of diverse ranges including textiles, homeware, gifts, and craft products.
- Collaborating with our Senior Designer to transform your ideas into beautiful, sellable products.
- Building strong relationships with our Buying team and supporting them to bring designs to life.
- Keeping up to date with market trends, ensuring our designs are fresh and ahead of the curve.
- Working in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality designs on time, alongside a passionate and collaborative team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a homeware design role, bringing a fresh and creative approach to the table.
- Ideally, a BA (Hons) degree in Textiles, Design, or Illustration.
- Solid skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CAD knowledge is a must!).
- A versatile portfolio that showcases your creativity and range across different styles.
- A strong sense of commercial awareness, understanding what works in the market.
- Great communication skills and the ability to present and share ideas confidently.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a creative environment and loves working closely with others.
- A positive, “can-do” attitude and a passion for seeing your designs on the shelves!
